in no universe was yesha going to "accept" zenos. there was no "kinship" between them outside of what zenos felt on his own, which was a deluded view of who he was / who he perceived himself to be to the warrior of light. yesha never consented to be part of his "hunt"; she knew he was hunting her but that's nothing new — he was not the first, he would not be the last. she was not playing a game any more than she was fulfilling her role in a pre-determined steps of a dance that she had performed so many times before: there was an enemy she had to defeat, a threat she had to subdue because the scales of power were tipped and unbalanced, because people were relying on her to keep them safe.

she even flinched away from being called "his first friend". all she felt for him in that moment was pity, because you had to have been brought up in extremely twisted circumstances to find friendship in the eyes of someone who very determinedly wanted you defeated. there was no hatred in yesha for zenos, nor affection or the whispers of it. there was only the absolute resolve that he had to be stopped. whatever his delusions were, he had to be ousted from ala mhigo and neutralized for the danger he posed eorzea. the moment he bound his will with the primal shinryu, he already lost. yesha was given no other recourse but to assure his defeat.
